The Legacy of the Evergreen Shiba Inu Club
The Evergreen Shiba Club was founded in 1986 before the AKC recognized the breed. The goal of the Club founders in the early days was to get together and compete with their Shiba at rare breed shows. When the Shiba was recognized by AKC in 1992, the Evergreen Shiba Club hosted the first Annual National Specialty, and to this day, remains the oldest standing Shiba Inu club in the United States.
In the late 1990's and early 2000's, the focus was to become an independently AKC licensed club and host our own Specialties out from under the auspices of the parent club. One requirement of the American Kennel Club was that we incorporate the word "Inu" into the club's name, so we are now known as,
The Evergreen Shiba Inu Club.

About Evergreen Shiba Inu Club
Our Mission
Evergreen Shiba Inu Club is a not for profit Regional breed club affiliated with the National Shiba Club of America and the AKC. It is the oldest Regional Breed Club in the United States for Shiba Inu. ESIC encompasses the greater Pacific Northwest.
Meet the Team
Our club members come from diverse backgrounds, are all ages and of all walks of life, but one thing we have in common is the deep love and burning passion for the Shiba Inu breed.
We like to meet up with other breeders and show friends periodically for training, shows, and club activities. The club has seen recent growth which is welcome, despite several big losses over the last few years.
The breed needs excellent breeders and pet owners in order to survive for future generations. Even if you don't show, but want to help the breed/club, you can support responsible breeders and volunteer to help with our events (and consider joining!).
Upcoming Events
We host a variety of events throughout the year, including Meet the Breed booths, club dinners, silent auctions, and 2 Regional specialty shows. Our annual AM and PM Specialty event is each September south of Olympia. We also have a silent auction and dine out after the event. All are welcome to visit with the exhibitors at the event and ask questions.
